Matt is a litigation attorney who maintains an active trial practice throughout North Dakota and Minnesota.  Matt’s areas of concentration include commercial, trust & estate, and administrative litigation.

Super Lawyers has recognized Matt as a “top rated” creditor/debtor rights and estate & trust litigation attorney in Fargo and has named Matt as a Great Plains “Rising Star” since 2019.

Matt’s broad range of experience includes representing manufacturers, contractors, tradesmen, and businesses in all areas of industry as both plaintiff’s and defendant’s counsel.  Matt’s rapidly developing practice also includes representing personal representatives, trustees, and beneficiaries in complex trust & estate litigation, including trust and will disputes, capacity and undue influence issues, and breach of fiduciary duty claims.  Matt also has significant experience in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings having represented both petitioners and proposed wards.

Matt received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of North Dakota School of Law where he was the Symposium Editor for the North Dakota Law Review.  During law school, Matt served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Shon Hastings, Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the District of North Dakota.

Following law school, Matt completed a one-year judicial clerkship for the Honorable Lisa Fair McEvers, Justice of the North Dakota Supreme Court.

In his free time, Matt enjoys participating in craft beer running groups, cruising on his Harley-Davidson, and hiking with his fiancé, April, and two Yorkshire Terriers, Kimber and Remmy.
